Business Meeting Minutes

January 15th, 2019

Opening

The regular meeting of the Libertarian Party of Orange County, Fl. was called to order at 7:30pm on January 15th, 2019 at Orlando Brewing by Chair – Derek Ryan.

Present

Executive Committee: Derek Ryan – Chair, Mari Morrell – Secretary, Greg Peele - Treasurer, Wayne Jackman – Platform Chair

Voting Members: None

Regular Members: Will Dukes

Guests: Ralph Grover, Scott Cox, Kevin Hein, Izzy Aly

Determination of Quorum

Quorum of voting members was established.

Approval and Adoption of Agenda

Greg Peele moved to adopt the agenda and Wayne Jackman seconded the motion. It passed unanimously.

Approval of the Minutes

Wayne Jackman made a motion to accept the minutes from the December 18th, 2018 business meeting. The motion was seconded by Greg Peele and pass unanimously.

Motion 19-004: Amending Governing Documents to Fix Subordination

Mover: Greg Peele

Wayne Jackman called the question and that motion was seconded by Mari Morrell. This motion passed unanimously.

Main Motion Disposition: passed unanimously

 Text: I move to amend the Constitution and Bylaws to reorganize sections to correctly describe the subordination between the Constitution, Bylaws, Robert's Rules, and to fix various conflicts and unspecified items related to the basic organization of the governing documents as described in Constitution and By-Laws Amendment - Motion 19-004 Fix Subordination (Appendix A)

Special Rule of Order: Constitutional amendments must be approved by 3/4 vote on their second hearing.

New Business

Motion 19-006: Amending Governing Documents to Define Excused Absences

Mover: Greg Peele

Second: Mari Morrell

Disposition: passed unanimously

Text: I move to amend the Constitution to add a section to define the policy for excusing absences as described in Constitution and By-Laws Amendment - Motion 19-006 Excused Absences (Appendix B)

Special Rule of Order: Constitutional amendments must be approved by majority vote to be placed on the agenda at the following meeting.
